ALL WARS ARE AGAINST US
WE ARE AGAINST ALL WARS!
In 2006, the goal of world peace is still a long way off, made impossible by the proliferation of military forces, the armed wing of the State, all over the world. This process of militarisation has been helped by a complacent mass media and supported by other international organisations implicated in the new world “disorder”. On the pretext of defending human rights, fighting for democracy or combatting terrorism, the world’s States continue to plan and carry out incredible atrocities against people and the environment.
Inside their own borders, armies soak up social, health, education and socially useful research budgets, diverting funds to arms dealers and others whose task is to kill. The enormous profits created by the maintenance and development of armed forces are an integral part of capitalist development, imperialism and social repression. These armies create a culture of virility, violence, sexism, nationalism and needless sacrifice of human lives. They protect the current economic and social order, especially when people rebel against their oppression. The pretext of terrorism is increasingly used to justify the oppression and control of social movements. Any challenge to the State and capitalism – revolutions, revolts, riots – is brutally repressed by the forces of “order” – the millitary and the police, who always defend those in power. Moreover, armies generate a world arms economy in which the first victims of these “misdealings” are always civilians. They also accelerate the depletion of raw materials and sources of energy, as well as the destruction of nature by the use of more and more sophisticated weapons and the devastation of natural and constructed environments.
Outside their own borders, armies wreak more havoc on civilian populations than in battle. This military presence around the world is a concrete manifestation of the new world “disorder”. It prepares the ground for States and multinationals to lay their hands on the planet’s resources, such as oil, gas and water.
War expenditure is the target of shady and sinister speculation by arms-dealing States, who are also the most powerful countries in the world. Soldiers intervene to divide up the world’s resources, for the benefit of the powerful and their nation economies as part of the logic of competition, so dear to the capitalist system.
YOU ARE THE ENEMY, THEY FIGHT AGAINST YOU
THEY ATTACK YOUR WORKING CONDITIONS AND PAY
IF YOU PROTEST, THEY ARREST YOU
IF YOU SPEAK, THEY GAG YOU
IF YOU ORGANIZE, THEY SPY ON YOU
IF YOU SHOW SOLIDARITY, THEY PERSECUTE YOU
SAY NO TO THE WAR – SAY NO TO THE STATE
